Pioneer Music Tap
Pioneer has taken a very interesting approach to streaming music around your house. They have shunned the wireless network, scoffed at the wired network and wouldn't even dignify the radio transmitted network with a response.
They are all about the power lines. Yup, thats right, streaming audio over your home power lines. We aren't sure how this will sound, but it is a very intriguing idea to say the least.
Here is how it works. It has 2 USB inputs and three standard audio inputs on the base station. This is where you can hook up anything from your CD player to your USB stick that has MP3 on it. Once you have all of your media attached to the device you plug the power cable into a wall socket. Once this connection is made all the other power sockets in your house have music streaming to them.
Now all you need to do is plug in any of the systems speakers into a wall socket and it can play the music coming from the station. With the supplied remote you can select your music from any speaker in the house. And if all of this wasn't enough it is equipped with a motion sensor so that as you walk into a room the speaker will sense your motion and start to play music. It will turn off after you have left the room of course.
Pioneer says they are scheduled to come out sometime in March, but we aren't sure when we will actually see these for sale. You can bet we will be keeping our eye on this little baby.
