GMG TVisto Pro 3500 Media Streaming Device Unboxing
Well we the mail has arrived and our shinny new
TVisto Pro has arrived. We were so surprised when we read about this device since we follow this market very closely and we hadn't heard a peep about this on the horizon. We must be getting lazy! Well we had a brief
review in the past that highlighted the features advertised, but we couldn't take their word for it, we needed to find out for ourselves what this device was all about.
Well we haven't had time to give it a full once over and poke and prod it, but we do have some nice unboxing pictures for you as well as our initial comments. Check it out after the jump.
Not a bad overall package
look at all those cables it comes with
a clean looking front panel
a decent amount of hook ups. all the video is done through the HDMI port
Right off the bat we were impressed with the amount of cables that came with this device. Normally when you buy a streamer you will be lucky to get a network cable and maybe an audio cable. They had to ship this many cable since they chose to use a HDMI interface for everything. You get 3 video cables that can do,
Component,
Composite ,
S-Video,and
VGA with along audio. This should cover most peoples need for video connection. Funny that this all happens via a HDMI port yet there is no option to hook this up via HDMI. Curious don't you think. Another curious thing that we noticed as we sifted through the contents of the box, they didn't ship any batteries for the remote. It is the small things like these that make us scratch our heads.
Hook up was fairly straight forward. Plugging in all the cables and tuning our TV to the correct video input. Like most of these devices it defaults to composite so you have to battle with it slightly to switch it to component or whatever you decide to use. That was it, all set up fairly quickly, no server software to install, no drivers or firmware to download. That is what we like.
Stay tuned next week for our in depth review where we go over this little guy with a fine tooth comb.
