Kindle Mispronounces President's Name

kindle2.JPG

It seems that the Kindle 2 has a long way to go with its text-to-speech function. It mispronounces "Barack" as rhyming with "black" while "Obama" sounds like "Alabama." Nuance Communications, the company responsible for the dictionary, claims that they have worked out the bugs and will update the Kindle. As our new president is going to be around for awhile, we hope that Amazon can work on the problem before the new DX makes its debut. In the meantime, diehard Boston fans may find fault that the device pronounces the word "Celtic" with a hard C.
