Ford Adds Open API to SYNC

Last week we mentioned that Ford has gone WiFi with their SYNC system, and now they have developed an open API for developers to create mobile applications to run on their vehicles. SyncCast is one of the first applications that allows streaming to iPhone Internet radio. The other is FollowMe that lets one iPhone equipped car to follow another with turn-by-turn directions of the path of the first car. Both were developed by students at the University of Michigan in Dearborn.
