Smartphone Pass Key Testing at Holiday Inns

Two Holiday Inns are testing InterContinental Hotels Group technology that allows guests to sneak past the front desk and use their smartphones to open their doors. The Chicago O' Hare Rosemont and Houston Downtown Convention Center locations will feature the technology. IGH exec Bryson Koehler says the company is also testing RFID but feels that the smartphone technology, which can be used with iPhones, Blackberrys and Android phones among others, is more convenient.
