Google Fiber to Hit KC First

googlefiber.jpg

Google is bestowing its goodness and high speed broadband service to Kansas City, Kansas. Google Fiber is said to be 100 times faster than any broadband connection now available and 2000 times faster than dial-up. The 1 GB service will be given to about 500,000 users.

Google's magnanimous offer is hyped to the max with terms like 'need for speed' tossed into its announcement and the connection should take place sometime next year. About 1,100 cities competed for the honor of being first, but frankly, we wish they had found a remote area still listening to that awful noise of dial-up.
