Freakin' Friday! Rechargeable Canless Air

Although canned air is a luxury for those who eat while they surf, wouldn't it be wonderful if you could get one that never runs out? You practically can with the rechargeable Hurricane 2 Canless Air System. You get over 500 full charges, the equivalent of about 20 cans of air per charge. That's 10,000 uses! Because it has a wind speed of 150 mph, so there will be some noise but the device can be used at any angle so that seems a fair compromise.

Find Your Phone With Signal Flare

Security company Lookout claims that 30% of those with cell phones couldn't find them when lost or stolen because the batteries went dead. We think that might be a low estimate but a new feature on their security app helps take care of the problem. Signal Flare will flag your phone's location on their site when your battery is about to sputter out. Available for both Android and iPhones, you can signal your lost device with an actual noise to help you find it. The app is free and they have a Premium one that you can demo as a 2-week freebie.

Need Cash? EcoATM

Although they have been around for over a year, there seems to be a plethora of EcoATMs cropping up for those seeking extra holiday cash. The good news - you get cash on the spot even if your cellphone or MP3 payer is broken. The bad news - you need to supply an ID and electronic thumbprint to ensure you are not fencing off something that somehow doesn't belong to you. The eco-minded will be glad to know that they will actually resell your ancient electronics to other vendors or disembowel for recycling.

Instacane Features Sandy Images

Peter Ng of Ricochet Media and Facebook engineer Chris Ackermann grabbed photos that were tagged either #Sandy or #Hurricane. They then created the site Instacane. It is an amazing site and we expect that they will continue to add to it in the weeks to come. And, by the way, how can you not feel the utmost compassion for what they are going through? If you can spare it, please use your phone to text the Red Cross at 90999 to make a $10.00 donation or contact the Red Cross to volunteer and find other ways you can be of assistance.
