Sharp has released a teaser for their new QUATTRON TV with the color yellow that is only as good as the TV that you are watching it on. But the thing we liked best is that during the spot there was a disclaimer that an actor was an "expert." Yeah. Who doesn't know who George Takei is? Then again, maybe they were in on the joke.

Fisher Price Launches Moments to Share

Fisher Price has launched a Facebook application that parents can use to select who can see photos of their kids. The company will also be launching apps for the iPhone and iPod Touch designed for children aged 2 - 5. Moments to Share includes promotions and products for them based on their gender and age. So while the app is a good idea for keeping away pervs, expect some commercialism as well.

Freakin' Friday! FloTV Ads Entertain and Help Haiti

We have to give a shout out to FloTV for their spots during this year's Super Bowl. Qualcomm certainly deserves a NAVi Award for convincing us that we shouldn't be without one. Case in point, the ad that featured Will I.Am. with the remix of the Who's "My Generation." By the way, if you download the tune for a mere $1.29, all proceeds go to Haiti relief.

US Census Bureau Uses Humor in PSA

If you are a fan of Christopher Guest, the creator of such movies as "Waiting for Guffman" and "Best in Show" then you had to appreciate the PSA he created that was shown during Sunday's Golden Globes. With his cast of regulars that includes Ed Begley Jr., Bob Balaban and Jennifer Coolige, this is the first of five total spots for the US Census Bureau.

Charlie Rose Makes Us Crave "Avatar"

If you watch PBS with any regularity, then you have surely heard of Charlie Rose. We don't think there is anyone he hasn't interviewed in the realm of the arts and politics, and masterfully so. Watching him with James Cameron December 17 discussing "Avatar" convinced us even more to run right out to see the 3D movie. While we are waiting for some of the hoopla to die down before our own viewing, let us know if you have seen it and your impressions of the technology that took 10 years to come to fruition.

NAVi Award Winner - Verizon Droid

We have to award another NAVi for Verizon's new commercial "Stealth." With pods landing all over the planet, they keep the new phone fairly mysterious. We don't care. You go, Droid.

Wake Up! It's Cyber Monday

Many of the stores that featured Black Friday bargains carried over through today and some of them have additional deals. Sony is giving up a PS3 or Blu-ray player with purchase of a Bravia HDTV. Also check with Dell, the Apple Store and Amazon, where they seem to be having cyber week. And if all else fails, search what you are looking for by including the word "cyber" when you do so. Even simpler, hit our Holiday Gift Guide. Happy shopping!

AT&T Denied Injunction

We reported that AT&T was trying to get an injunction against Verizon for their "There's A Map for That" ad campaign. Judge Timothy Batten ruled yesterday that although they were "sneaky", they were not misleading. Another hearing has been scheduled in December and until then AT&T is fighting back with their "Truth About 3G" ad. While Verizon's ads are clever and amusing, AT&T is fighting back with Luke Wilson. Hmmm. Seriously? Are we the only ones that would rather they spend their bucks on better advertising?
