Freakin' Friday! LG New Google TVs

lggoogleteevy.jpg

LG will be unveiling their latest Google TV at next month's CES. The GA6400 and GA7900 series utilizes their Magic Qwerty Remote to work with Voice Search and PrimeTime quick guide. There are more goodies as well. New Home Dashboards use "cards" like folders that display apps, other content and even real-time news and weather information. The OnLive app is pre-installed for gamers and WiFi makes it easy to connect to YouTube, Android smartphones and tablets. And of course it is 3D friendly.

What that means is that the current line of LG's HDTVs, including their 47G2 47" Cinema 3D LED-LCD HDTV is marked down for those who want to save some coinage. It comes with Google TV, Six Pairs of 3D Glasses and is now available for less than $1,00.

Freakin' Friday! Sony Cassette Players Discontinued

sonycassette.jpg

We have an older version of one of these Sony Standard Cassette Players for over a decade and it is still running. And although we have mostly moved on to digital, we still occasionally drag it out. It seems that as of next month, Sony will be discontinuing several models of their TCMs, so this is your last chance to scoop one of these puppies up super-cheap. It has some great features for a portable cassette player including speed variance, voice activation recording, built-in mic and headphone jack.

Freakin' Friday! UG007 PC Dongle

ug007.jpg

Sometimes tiny is a good thing. The UG007 is a mini-PC with a Dual Core CPU and runs Android 4.1. It has 8GB internal storage that can hold up to 32GB with SD card. Hook it up to your TV via HDMI and you've got game, well apps anyway. Its Bluetooth keyboard may be small but certainly easier than most smartphone keyboards. Compatible with most file types, the dongle comes with a charger, HDMI and USB cable and is also available in white.

Freakin' Friday! Rechargeable Canless Air

Although canned air is a luxury for those who eat while they surf, wouldn't it be wonderful if you could get one that never runs out? You practically can with the rechargeable Hurricane 2 Canless Air System. You get over 500 full charges, the equivalent of about 20 cans of air per charge. That's 10,000 uses! Because it has a wind speed of 150 mph, so there will be some noise but the device can be used at any angle so that seems a fair compromise.

Freakin' Friday! Audio-Technica Headphones

audiotechnica.jpg

Those looking for a reasonably priced pair of headphones can look no further than Audio-Technica's closed-back dynamic Professional Headphones. We bought the ATH-M30 for less than $42.00 when we needed a pair that would have decent sound at very little cost. The 'phones manage to block a lot of exterior sound while capturing both treble and bass nuances. With a 20-20,000 Hz frequency response and an impedance of 65 ohms, they have a very comfortable fit, are lightweight and have a flexible 11 ft. cable. We wanted a 3.5mm connection and it also comes with a ¼" adapter.

Freakin' Friday! Breaking Bad Plushies

breaking_bad_plushies.jpg

OMG! We absolutely adore Breaking Bad! The more evil Walt gets, the more we like it. Jesse now seems a wuss in comparison. So how much of an oxymoron are these plushies? Made by MissCoffee, another fan, the set was made for an LA art gallery and not for sale unless enough of us can convince her to mass produce.

breakingbad.jpg

Btw, if you haven't seen Breaking Bad, shame on you! Catch up on the current Season 5 as well as previous ones.
