LOZ: Limited Edition Skyward Sword Bundle
Less than a week away (Nov. 20) from the latest and possibly greatest Zelda game ever, (at least according to Jimmy Fallon who got practically manic while testing it last week.) While Link was our introduction to the gaming world, too, eons ago, we can identify with his enthusiasm, especially after seeing a preview. You can pre-order the Skyward Sword Gold Remote Bundle that comes with game, music CD soundtrack and limited edition Gold Wii Remote Plus w/Triforce Symbol Accessory.

Sony Lowers PS3 Price

Sony has lowered the price of its Playstation 3 to get more in the proverbial game. It seems that reduction has already moved the system to the top of game console sales at Amazon. With the 160GB model and the 320 GB PS3 cut by $50.00, get yours before the price starts to soar again during the holidays. A Call of Duty Bundle is also available .
Another move that will probably keep the company in the bright green is the deal to bring DirecTV's NFL Sunday Ticket to the PS3.

Rajlich Cheats at Computer Chess Matches

While it may be commonplace to hear now that jocks use performance enhancing drugs, we were shocked amused to find out that someone tried to cheat by using a code on their computer to win a chess match. Vasik Rajlich enhanced his computer by slipping in some extra source codes. The problem was not that he added them but that the codes from Crafty and Fruit were used without permission. Because of the fraud, the runner-ups from 2007 - 2010 were deemed the winners of said matches by the ICGA.

Wii U to Debut 2012

At the recent E3, Nintendo unveiled its next best thing, the Wii U with high-def graphics, a tablet touchscreen and motion-sensing controller. Available next year, Nintendo claims that the combination of tablet/game machine was conceived before the iPad was a mere twinkle in Apple's eye. Whether it is grasped by the public with open arms, er gaming hands, remains to be seen. You can even sign up now to be notified when it is released.

Freakin' Friday! 3DS Test Run by Jimmy Fallon
Amidst the hoopla surrounding the release of the 3DS, many critics are quick to shut it down on its usability or difficulty to play, but Jimmy Fallon was filled with glee when he got the opportunity to play with it last week. (But come to think of it, he is always gleeful.)
In its second week out, the portable game system sold 50,710 units, breaking the record of the PSP as the fastest selling. No doubt many of those were from people that can't resist shooting the faces of their closest buds.

Sony Takes New Stride in Gaming

Sony is working on a new technology for video gaming that allows players to see a different image depending on where they are in the room. With 3D 'Killzone 3,' the gamers will not be able to view what each competitor is doing. The tech is a form of split screen and will not be available to the public for quite a while, but may be eventually incorporated in their TVs in the future.

Playing Video Games Eases Stress

The next time your mom/mate complains that you play video games too much, you can claim that it is easing your stress. A survey conducted by East Carolina University and underwritten by PopCap Games arranged for 59 humans suffering for depression to play the games Bejeweled 2, Peggle or Bookworm Adventures for a set amount of time per day for a full month. The result was that those who played managed to reduce their stress by 57%.

Sony Looks to Eventual PS Android Smartphones

Although we are not prone to rumors, this one from Sony Computer Entertainment's President CEO Kazuo Hirai seems promising. They are thinking of partnering again with Google TV. (The Sony Bravia NSX-40GT1 has already included Google TV with mostly uninspiring results.)
The move means not only support for their Playstation Suite (another reason to keep playing) but a future that will include "PlayStation Certified" Android phones that can play in PS quality. The company will keep an eye on the PSS before leaping to the phone idea, but we see this idea as a keeper.

Walmart Black Week

Wallyworld is pushing itself to the max this week. They plan on opening at midnight Black Friday. While they say that this is to keep shoppers out of the cold, we know they are after those shoppers who consider the day a sport and line up a couple of days early. Nonetheless, the electronics will not be available until 5:00 a.m. Since the store offers plenty of online deals, you can still stay out of the cold.

The latest iPod touch is available in a 8, 32 or 64GB Bundle for $223.00 that comes with accessories. Upgrades and optional speakers can be added.

Before the Kinect runs out in your neighborhood, there is an Xbox 360 4GB Console that comes with the controller. The Bundle includes 'Kinect Adventures' and your choice of two other games at a price of $388.00.

If this is your year for a big screen, $399.00 will get you a RCA 42" Plasma 720p 600Hz HDTV. It has a 1024 x 768 resolution, 176ยบ vertical and horizontal angles and built-in ATSC digital/NTSC analog tuner.
