Sony + Best Buy = Altus Line

Sony and Best Buy have joined forces in a new Altus product line. Included will be a Blu-ray Home Theater System with wireless surround speakers. It also houses an iPod cradle, can connect with other PMPs and will carry a price starting at $799.00. Other products include wireless PC audio systems, iPod docking systems and a plug and play speaker system. You can pre-order now or find them soon at Best Buy, Sony Style stores and other retailers.

The HT-BD3252 is packed with a Blu-ray player with BD-live, Pandora and Netflix streaming, This fall, Blockbuster OnDemand will also be an option. At a price of $799.00, look for an August release.

Crestron has a new media center. The TPMC-4SM Isys i/O Wall Mount is 4.3" and combines room scheduling with with the simplicity of a touchscreen. With PoE control, it provides LAN connectivity for both businesses and homes. Included RoomView Server Edition software needs no control system or other programming. The device can control your home theater, audio and video, security, 2-way IP intercom, heating and AC, and will work with other Crestron systems for A/V presentations. Best of all, its built-in proximity sensors automatically turns on and lights up in a dark room.

Marantz has unveiled its latest CD player. The CD6003 supports CD and CD-R/RW, WMA (48-320kbps,) MP3 (32-320kbps,) AAC (8-320kbps) and WAV files. With a frequency response of 2 - 20,000Hz, a signal to noise ratio of 110dB and a THD of 0.002%, the player will released in July with a MSRP of ¥49,800 (~$523.00.)
