Vivitek Projector Throws 95 Inch Image


Projectors continue to throw larger images but we suspect that the winner here is the short-throw from Vivetek. Already available in Taiwan and soon to be sold elsewhere, it projects an incredible 95". It supports 3D, has 3,000 lumens of brightness and a contest ratio of 2,500:1. This puppy will set you back about $2,456.00.

Google TV to Arrive Soon

Working with Sony, Logitech and Intel, Google continues to strive for the label 'King of the Electronic World.' Utilizing Android-based OS and the Chrome web browser, a Logitech set top box allows users to add the service to an existing TV with HDMI ports and Internet connection. Search and access videos and photos from your existing satellite or cable provider. While details such as price and exact date of availability are fuzzy to date, Logitech has already set up a site with a few more hints.

The Sony Dash utilizes WiFi and more than 1,000 free applications to provide movies, music, games, traffic, weather and more without the use of a PC. The personal Internet viewer gives access to Internet radio and MP3s with built-in speakers or headphone jack. Check out videos and photos via USB or use it as a social networking tool. The Dash comes equipped with a clock so you can wake up to apps, alarm sounds or music.

Sanyo Improved Gorilla PNDs


Sanyo has released a new series of Gorilla PNDs with some extra features. The NV-SD740DT, NV-SB570DT and NV-SB550DT have 16GB SSED memory, backlit LED, better mapping with a 5m zoom and 5 levels of color scale. Record and save video, photos and music and use it as a digital photo frame when not in use. The Gorillas have a 1SEG TV tuner, a 2×1W stereo speaker set, a 7" monitor, a VICS Traffic module and 3 hours of battery life.

Archos to Release Android Tablets


Archos has two new Android based tablets designed for those who want more than a smartphone and less than a PC. Due out in June, both can play videos, music and photos, and can also access the Interweb at prices around $200.00. The 7 Tablet has a 7" touchscreen with built-in WiFi and USB for transferring files. It will be available in both 2 and 8GB models.


The 8 Home Tablet features an 8" touchscreen and holds 4GB memory. This would certainly be a good addition to any kitchen with the ability to download recipes and be used as a digital frame while cleaning up the dishes.

StorE Saves 2TB Media Files


Toshiba's StorE TV will save up to 2TB of media files. It can stream audio, video and images from your PC to your HDTV, as well as via USB, an external DVD drive or SD card from your camera. The device will be available in Q4 with no price announced as yet.
