Apple Aids Students and Authors

ipad-texbook.jpg

Apple has always included students in its fan base and we can still remember when the first computers in school were Macs. These days they are hoping it will be the iPad that makes the proverbial grade with iBooks, with over 20,000 educational apps for teachers to take advantage of.

And for writers who want to self publish, the free iBooks Author is a fairly simplified tool that uses copy/paste for text or importing from a Word or Pages document. Drag and drop images and use included widgets if desired.

So no more excuses. Go write the next great American (or international) novel. After completion convert to PDF or peddle it in the iBookstore.

Steve's Legacy - iPads Everywhere

donaldpenn.jpg

It seems that iPads are becoming quite handy in the grand scheme of things. Schools in New York City, Chicago, California and Virginia will be incorporating them in their curriculum. Eighty nine disabled voters in Oregon will be first to vote on the tablet, and soon it will become statewide. Even sports teams are getting in on the concept as both the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Baltimore Ravens use them for playbooks.

The iPad is finding its way into the medical community as well. They can be used for electronic medical records, physicians keep track of medical records and patients long distance and med students utilize them. Undoubtedly, this is only the beginning of its future on the planet. Steve would be proud.
