Koishi Audio is So Zen


Everyone say, "ohhhhmmmm." Speed Studio Design's Koishi Audio is a digital home audio system that looks as good as it sounds. It is based on a Japanese garden's stacked pebbles and features a simple touch screen interface and single control knob. Although it is only a prototype at this point, we can already feel the love.

Freakin' Friday! Roth ALFiE Media System


Roth's ALFiE combines an iPod dock, DVD and CD player and AM/FM radio with digital clock and dual alarm. The dock's drive plays DVD, CD-DA, Video CD, DVCD, CDR, CD/RW, and MP3 tunes. A built-in audio engine can crank out 40W while a 2.1 amplifier, subwoofer and two front speakers complete the system. The ALFiE has an auxiliary input as well as earphone, video, S-Video and RGB outputs.

Home Theater of the Year 2009


Dare to dream. Electronic House has released their Home of the Year Awards 2009 for those that they feel are outstanding. Included is this 7,000-square-foot house that they picked as their Home of the Year. It consists of a 7.1-channel JBL Synthesis system, a 125-inch Stewart Filmscreen in CinemaScope format (2.35:1 aspect ratio), a Runco projector and CineWide anamorphic lens. Then they added a 7.1 Sonance architectural speaker system to the den and 5.1 channels in the master bedroom which has two TVs. A video game room has a triple-screen auto racing simulator and a flat-panel TV. In addition, they added sounds to the outside with 16 speakers. We want one.

Boston Acoustics always puts out a fine system and they have recently lowered their price for this

Kenwood DTS Surround Sensation


It even looks rather Bose-y. Kenwood is developing a CD system they refer to as a DTS Surround Sensation. According to the translated press release, the system is compatible with digital audio players, PC and even telephones with 3D sound. Perhaps more details will appear following its debut at the A&V Festa 2009 in Japan this week.
