Find Cheap Cables For Just About Anything

ethernet%2Bcrossover%2Bcable.jpg

One of the things we have to deal with on a constant basis is buying more cables to hook up the increasing number of devices we seem to be collecting at an alarming rate. It always drives us nuts going down to the local electronics store only to find them selling the gold plated special edition cable for 50 bucks. You know and we know that 99% of these high end cables are pure hype, but with little other choice we end up having to buy them anyways. Well thanks to a tipster( thanks dave ) we have found the holy grail of cheap cables. Ladies and gentlemen, behold Monoprice Cables.

Our jaw dropped when we saw some of these prices. We recently needed to buy some component cables quickly so we ended up at a local, unnamed, electronic store only to find the cheapest one they were selling was 30 bucks. Since we were short on time and figured all the other stores in the area would pretty much be the same we gave in. We knew we just got ripped off, but we didn't have time to fight it. Well just a quick glance at MonoPrice will show you cables for 7 bucks! 7!!! I wish I had found this site about a year ago, I would have saved a ton of money. Anyway, we hope we have saved some of you some of that hard earned cash. Enjoy!

Free Overnight Shipping From Sonos

sonos.jpg

Well for those that have yet to buy that special gift and are dreading the cost of shipping it in time for Christmas you are in luck. Sonos is offering free overnight shipping if you order in the next 2 days. We had reviewed the Sonos in the past and found it to be an amazing music streamer that would make any music aficionado smile from ear to ear.

Some people seem to have a problem with the price of the Sonos system, well those people surely haven't had a chance to test one out. We were blown away with how polished the system was and how easy it was to setup and stream your music. If you have someone special that you still need to get a gift for and they love music and you have a few extra bucks kicking around then the Sonos bundle will make an excellent gift. It even got third place on our top 7 list! Happy shopping.

Sonos ZoneBridge BR100 Shipping

sonos-controller.jpg

So the Sonos ZoneBridge BR100 is shipping from Amazon and for those that own the Sonos system you are in luck. This cheap( $100 ) add-on to your system will allow you to extend the Sonos network in your house without the need to buy the more expensive ZonePlayer. The ZoneBridge has Ethernet ports on the back that will allow you to hook it up to a multitude of devices that you can pull music from, above and beyond your already functioning ZonePlayer setup.

One of the beauties of the ZoneBridge is the ease in which you can extend your Sonos network. For 100 bucks you can add one of these somewhere remote in your home and enjoy music places you thought would always be silent.

On top of all of this they have also rolled out a new firmare (2.5) that adds the ability to hook into the Napster platform as well as Best Buy's Digital Music store. There are some other nice features in the upgrade as well that cover connectivity and browsing. Anyone that owns a Sonos system already should really check out the new firmware as it looks to be a very nice upgrade.

Free Sonos Charging Cradle with Sonos Bundle 130 Purchase

sonos_bundle_130.jpg

Sonos has a great deal going on right now. If you buy their Sonos Bungle 130 they are going to throw in a free charging cradle for the remote. If you haven't read our review of this product you should jump here and check it out. It was such an amazing device to play with. We were very sad when we had to send it back.

If there is someone in your life that has been extra special good this year and loves music you should set them up with the Sonos Bundle. It will change the way they listen to their music and they will be forever grateful. Granted it is fairly pricey, but this is a product that will last years and allow for a lot of quality time listening to music and maybe a little less time watching TV.

Great Deal on Maxtor Shared Storage II 320 Hard Drive

maxtorSharedStorage320.jpg

We are always on the lookout for great deals on anything that can help us with our media streaming. Well as anyone that has spent any time on this site knows, we are storage junkies. We keep buying more and more storage. We have never maxed out our home storage network and we intend to keep it that way. Well as we were looking around we came across some great deals on a Maxtor NAS. This sucker has a lot of great things going for it. It comes with a Gig network hookup, 7200 rpm 320Gb hard drive and two USB ports to allow for expansion whether it be another hard drive or a printer to share with the rest of the computers on your network.

What makes us like this drive even more is that it supports UPnP so it will play nice with all of our media streamers in the house. We love the idea of having a low power device serving up all of our media so we can keep our power hungry PCs off. Even if you don't intend to use it to stream media you can enjoy the fact that this NAS device will add 320Gb of storage to your network in a snap. Just plug it in and you have instantly added a nice backup solution for all of your media. It comes with some one touch software so you can have it backup certain folders at the push of a button. If you don't already have a backup solution this would be a perfect fit.

Big Sale on Mvix 760HD at NewEgg

mx760hd.jpg

Well as any reader of our site knows, we love the Mvix 760HD. It has fulfilled our desire to be able to access all of our DVD's without having to actual have the DVD present. We have put all of our DVD's on our central server and use the 760 to stream them to our TV.

Well we were very excited when we saw that Mvix had teamed up with Newegg to offer a great deal on their 760HD. You can now purchase the 760HD via Newegg for the low price of 304.99 after printing and filling out the main-in-rebate form on the website.

If there was ever a time you were thinking of jumping on the 760's bandwagon now is it. This has been our favorite media streamer yet. It has changed the way we watch movies. Having all of them available all the time without that ugly stack of DVD's next to the TV has been great.

Hopefully this deal will turn some more people onto the the 760HD and help show companies like Apple what a true media streamer should be like!

Free Optical Cable Giveaway at MvixUSA

mvixusa_760hd.jpg

We just saw that the good people over at MvixUSA have a new promotion going on to increase exposure for their great 760HD media streamer ( see news here and here ).

They have a deal going on currently that the first 500 people that sign up for their promo get a free optical cable. The only thing that you have to do is fill out a form and agree to receive a brief email about the 760HD.

We think this is a great way to expose a larger audience to the 760HD. Many people don't really hear about networked media streamers and when they do they end up hearing only about the AppleTV. This is a great way to show people that there are other options out there for people.

We have loved their products so we really hope this allows more people to find out about the 760 and experience first hand what a great product it is.

$99 Seagate 500GB Drive at Newegg

seagateHD.jpg

Well the prices of hard drives keeps falling and we couldn't be happier. Our favorite brand has a big deal going on over at newegg that with the promo code:

EMC619FCUDA

you can pick up one of the best brands on the market for dirt cheap. We have been seeing a lot of deals lately but $99 for a 500GB drive is so far the best we have seen.

So if you were debating whether or not to add some storage to your home network here is your opportunity to do it. We might just have to add another Terabyte to our NAS server with prices like these :)

The good people at MvixUSA are celebrating fathers day by offering the following deals:

MvixUSA.com Store: UVE6-B2H2-ADX0

The returning reader knows that we love us some Mvix and if anyone was on the fence about getting one, now might be a great time. Mvix's lineup of products is top notch and the if you look at our hands on review of the 760HD you can see just how bad ass it really is. Don't walk, run and get yourself one of these suckers. We have had so much fun streaming our movies to our TV that it sometimes scares us. There was a lot of satisfaction in putting all of our DVD's in the closet for good and being able to watch any of the anytime we wanted without getting our lazy ass off the couch.

Hard Drive Sale: Samsung 500GB Internal Drive for $110

harddrive.jpg

Newegg is currently offering a great deal on internal storage. They have the

    SAMSUNG SpinPoint T Series HD501LJ 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM
for sale for only $110!! You get a $5 instant rebate and if you enter the promo code "EMC529DHD50" you get another $5. Anyone looking to add to their current storage could save a little cash buying a few of these.

Nothing like getting a terrabyte of storage for just over 200 bucks!!! Ok we admit it, we have a problem, if there is a support group for people that can't own enough hard drives we need to find it.
