TiVo Comes to BlackBerry

RIM has finally released TiVo for BlackBerry owners, sort of. With the free application, users can view their Program Guide and schedule movies and programs for the set-top box. Unfortunately, you cannot stream them onto the smartphones, but at least it is a step in the right direction and the price is right.

Wii Offers Free Internet Channel

Wii owners will be pleased to note that Nintendo has made their Internet channel available at no charge. Downloadable from the Wii Shop Channel, users can check email, net surf, and it now supports Adobe Flash. Those who previously paid for the service will get a free NES download as compensation.

Barnes & Noble Offers Free ebook Download

Barnes & Noble has their own idea of what an ebook should be. Their application is a free download that allows you to read titles on your PC, Mac, Blackberry or iPhone. Undoubtedly in an effort to promote that and keep in competition with the Kindle, the company has teamed with AT&T to offer free, unlimited WiFi in all of their stores, although there was limited usage prior to now. In addition, those who take advantage of the program will have access to over 700,000 titles, coupons, new title announcements and dates of book signings.
