Barnes & Noble Offers Free ebook Download

barnesnoble.JPG

Barnes & Noble has their own idea of what an ebook should be. Their application is a free download that allows you to read titles on your PC, Mac, Blackberry or iPhone. Undoubtedly in an effort to promote that and keep in competition with the Kindle, the company has teamed with AT&T to offer free, unlimited WiFi in all of their stores, although there was limited usage prior to now. In addition, those who take advantage of the program will have access to over 700,000 titles, coupons, new title announcements and dates of book signings.

Freakin' Friday! It's Home Audio Month

denonavr989.JPG

We didn't even know that the site had special months, but it might be a good idea to check out Amazon as it has declared June Home Audio Month. In addition to a deal of the week, such as this week's $350.00 off Denon's AVR-989 805-Watt 7.1 Channel Home Theater Receiver, there are substantial savings to be found like:

Freakin' Friday! Shop Online for Cables

computercables.jpg

A couple of weeks ago, we needed a new cable. Thinking that it would be a simple and inexpensive thing, we went to our nearest electronics where the least expensive USB extension cord was $15.00. We managed to buy one at half price when we found one in that had been repackaged, but we certainly learned our lesson. The moral here is that before you let that sales associate talk you into saving your gas by buying an overpriced cable, you can probably buy online for a fraction of the price. Here are some examples of some that are each less than $2.00:

Freakin' Friday! Flip UltraHD Camcorder

flipultrahd.JPGfliptripod.jpg

If you still haven't made your claim to fame on YouTube, Flip has a new UltraHD Camcorder. Our Flip has enabled us to upload with such simplicity that we are positively addicted to shooting everything in sight (including our cat.) They have also released a tripod that Amazon will toss in for free (or another accessory) if you purchase before May 13. Sure there are others for less, but as far as we are concerned, if it ain't broke...

Amazon has launched a Shopping App for BlackBerry. The free download will work for those who have a track ball and consists of a simplified way to search and buy from Amazon and their affiliates. No doubt the recent popularity of the app for iPhone spurred on the idea. Available on the application is Amazon Remembers to help keep track of items that matches photos of user products to those that are the same or similar. Check with the site for more features.
