Free WiFi Under the Golden Arches

Strike 3, Starbucks. McDonald's began offering McCafe, redesigned many of their restaurants and will now be offering free WiFi courtesy of AT&T. They were charging $2.95 for two hours, but will cut the fee beginning in January at 11,000 of its 14,000 locations in the US. They also plan on selling frappes and smoothies to go with those fries and will soon have a dollar menu for breakfast.

Amazon Free VOD and Xmas MP3s

Amazon has begun to offer a free VOD when you order one of their movies. The deal is good for hundreds of Blu-ray and DVD titles. We expect this is their latest move to compete with both Walmart and Sears, as the two companies have lowered their prices on discs to get your holiday business. Amazon is also offering a free Christmas MP3 Download daily until December 25.

Disney Offers Upgrade2Blu

Following in the recent footsteps of Time Warner, Disney is offering Upgrade2Blu. Not only do you get an $8.00 rebate when you accept the offer, you get to keep your old DVD. That makes it a sort of win-win situation since you can keep the Blu-ray disc for yourself and give your kids the used one. You simply print out your proof tags and fill in a form and your rebate will be in the mail.

Wake Up! It's Cyber Monday

Many of the stores that featured Black Friday bargains carried over through today and some of them have additional deals. Sony is giving up a PS3 or Blu-ray player with purchase of a Bravia HDTV. Also check with Dell, the Apple Store and Amazon, where they seem to be having cyber week. And if all else fails, search what you are looking for by including the word "cyber" when you do so. Even simpler, hit our Holiday Gift Guide. Happy shopping!
